AYURVEDA

Ayurveda literally means the knowledge and wisdom of life. It is the healing system of India, sometimes referred to as the mother of all healing. It originated in India over 5,000 years ago and is still being used today.
Ayurveda views health and disease as the end result of how we interact with the world, in terms of our beliefs, perceptions, thoughts and feelings, ehich thenultimately determine our actions. Actions in harmonywith our inner nature create health, while thosedis-harmonious with our inner nature create disease. Ayurveda is the science of developing greater harmony with our environment through all of our senses.
Ayurveda assists the body in hjourneying back to optimal health by balancing the five elements in the body and mind through the yse of herbs, diet, colors, aromas, lifestyle changes, yoga, and meditation along with other five sense therapies.

Your inner nature is called your constitution or prakruti and is a unique blend of the three doshas vatta, pitta and kapha. Your constitution was determined at the moment of conception and is with you your entire life. It determines what is in harmony with your nature and what will cause you to become out of balance, sick and diseased. Knowledge of your constitution is essential to developing optimal health.

Ayurveda is considered the healing sister science to yoga. Subsequently, Yoga is the spiritual sister science to Ayurveda. These two ancient sciences strive to help us re-connect to our true nature through direct experience. Together Yoga & Ayurveda are a complete approach to healing and balancing the body, mind and spirit.

Abhyanga Oil Massage
Abhyanga is the traditional oil massage from India that is used in Ayurveda. It is one of the main ways that Ayurveda keeps us strong and prevents us from aging. A major part of aging is the drying out of tissue that results in slower transport of nutrients into cells and toxic wastes out of the body. Oil massage removes this dryness and any stagnation of energy flow to the organs. This relaxing massage is deeply nourishing to the mind and body and has profound lasting benefits.

Jaisri has been studying with world renowned Ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Vasant Lad, since 1989 and brings experience gained from over 15 years of Ayurvedic practice.
